3-Mile Bike Trail

Project Type:
Land Use
Project Status:
Underway
Date Received:
Wednesday, December 28, 2022

The approximately 3-mile trail will navigate public owned and private owned property, below the WAPA power line and next to a natural gas line which both run directly through residential areas. This project is needed as the city continues to build new residential homes with no access to any trails system. There is a great opportunity to provide visitors and residents with recreational options near their homes with the construction of this trail. It will provide a safe route for users along with access to recreation, businesses and additional future corridors with new housing. Mills has historically been known for its industrial and manufacturing businesses while residents tend to live in the Casper area. As Mills continues to build out new residential neighborhoods, there has become an increase in demand for recreational opportunities closer to home and in a new area of Natrona County. The trail will connect on the east and west sides to the existing Platte River Trails system.
