Fire Hydrant Replacement

The City of Mills has been awarded grant funding to replace approximately 49 antiquated fire hydrants within the Mills municipal boundaries with new fire hydrants accommodating quick connect hose ports. The city has approximately 381 fire hydrants with more than 100 hydrants in need of replacement. The city would like to replace the oldest ones, installed in the 1940’s through the 1970’s to upgrade them to large port sizes with increased water flow, eliminate rusted and old connections, and eradicate fear of improper working order during emergencies.
