PUBLIC NOTICE
City of Mills Water Restrictions
Notice is hereby given that the City of Mills has implemented mandatory water conservation measures due to current drought conditions and lower-than-average runoff forecasts.
These restrictions are enacted pursuant to City Ordinance 13.16.020 and are effective 4/15/2026 to ensure the sustainability of the municipal water supply.
WATER USE RESTRICTIONS
- Outdoor watering is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
- Residents are strongly encouraged to reduce irrigation of landscaped areas by at least 50%
- Washing of hard surfaces, including driveways, sidewalks, and streets, is prohibited
- Water shall not be allowed to run off into streets, gutters, or storm drains
MANDATORY ALTERNATING DAY WATERING SCHEDULE
Residential Properties:
- Even-numbered addresses: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
- Odd-numbered addresses: Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
Commercial Properties:
- Watering permitted: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Public Properties:
- Watering permitted: Monday and Friday only
All residents and businesses are urged to exercise caution in water use. Conservation efforts are essential to maintaining adequate water supply during this period.
ENFORCEMENT
Violations of these restrictions may result in penalties in accordance with City Ordinances 13.16.060 and 1.03.010, including fines of up to $750.00.
