Fleet Maintenance Worker
STARTING SALARY:
$24.00 - $25.00 Hourly (DOE)
$4,160.00 - $4,333.00 Monthly
$49,920.00 - $52,000.00 Annually
DESCRIPTION:
This person performs variety skilled services for the Public Works Department, Police Department and Fire Department. Including but not limited to: Light to heavy duty mechanical work on automotive equipment and machinery.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Completes work orders; orders parts and supplies; and prepares cost estimates for service requests.
- Keeps maintenance and repair records of all City vehicles and equipment.
- Inspects and tests repaired equipment for proper operating conditions, including preventive maintenance.
- Keeps maintenance and repair records of all City vehicles and equipment.
- Schedules for all outside repair work done at other shops.
- Diagnose equipment failure, determine the appropriate repair work necessary, and complete project.
- Performs skilled welding to repair worn or broken parts, including design and fabrication.
- Cleans and services equipment on a regular basis.
- Clean and organize maintenance shops.
- Maintains street, water, sewer, and sanitation systems as assigned.
- Follows all City safety procedures. Reports all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
Truck operation and maintenance.
Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of gas and diesel.
engines and automotive equipment.
Skilled welding to repair worn or broken parts, including design and fabrication.
EDUCATION: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
LICENSE: Possession of, or the ability to obtain, State of Wyoming CDL, as appropriate, must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This CDL required position is subject to drug and alcohol testing in compliance with DOT guidelines. A pre-employment test is required.
As a condition of employment, all potential candidates will be required to submit to a background check. Driving records are required for all new employees.
